1. Overview
This Refund & Cancellation Policy outlines the terms under which event tickets may be cancelled, rescheduled, or refunded.
By purchasing a ticket through Meet then Match, you agree to this policy.
2. Participant-Initiated Cancellations
A. Cancellation by Participant
If a participant chooses to cancel their attendance:
- Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled event may be eligible for a refund or event credit, at the platform’s discretion.
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are non-refundable.
- No-shows are non-refundable.
Refunds or credits, if granted, may exclude transaction processing fees.
Meet then Match reserves the right to evaluate exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
3. Platform-Initiated Cancellations
Meet then Match reserves the right to cancel any event at its sole discretion.
Events may be cancelled for reasons including but not limited to:
- Safety concerns
- Host misconduct or quality issues
- Misrepresentation of the event
- Operational concerns
- Insufficient attendance
- Gender imbalance
4. 48-Hour Attendance & Gender Balance Evaluation
Minimum attendance and reasonable gender balance thresholds are evaluated 48 hours prior to the scheduled event time.
If these requirements are not met, Meet then Match may:
- Cancel the event, or
- Reschedule the event to a later date
Participants will be notified by email of any changes.
5. Refunds Due to Platform Cancellation
A. Cancellation Due to Safety or Host Concerns
If an event is cancelled due to safety concerns, host misconduct, or platform quality standards:
- Participants will receive a full refund to their original payment method.
B. Cancellation Due to Insufficient Participation or Gender Imbalance
If an event is cancelled due to insufficient attendance or gender imbalance:
Participants may:
- Attend the rescheduled event, OR
- Request a full refund
If no response is received within the timeframe specified in the notification email, the platform may automatically process a refund or apply the ticket to the rescheduled event.
6. Rescheduling Process
If an event is rescheduled:
- Participants will receive notification of the new date.
- Participants may confirm attendance or request a refund.
- If a participant cannot attend the new date, a full refund will be issued upon request within the timeframe stated in the notification.
Rescheduling decisions are made to preserve event quality and participant experience.
7. Refund Processing
Approved refunds:
- Will be processed to the original payment method.
- May take several business days depending on the payment provider.
- Do not include third-party processing delays beyond the platform’s control.
Meet then Match is not responsible for delays caused by banks or payment processors.
8. Host Compensation
If an event is cancelled due to host-related concerns, Meet then Match may withhold host compensation.
If an event is cancelled due to attendance or balance issues, host compensation will be adjusted based on actual event outcome and platform discretion.
Host payment terms are further governed by the Host Terms & Conditions.
9. Force Majeure
Meet then Match shall not be liable for cancellations or delays caused by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters
- Government restrictions
- Venue closures
- Public health emergencies
- Transportation disruptions
In such cases, refunds or credits may be issued at the platform’s discretion.
10. Final Authority
Meet then Match retains final authority in all cancellation and refund decisions in order to protect platform integrity, participant experience, and safety standards.
